Richard Zinon at Cadogan Gallery Milan | Act I: Penombra
During the intensity of Milan Design Week 2026, when launches, installations and showrooms compete for attention, some of the most memorable encounters happen in quieter rooms.
At Cadogan Gallery Milan, Richard Zinon’s Act I: Penombra offers exactly that kind of pause. On view from 15 April to 6 June 2026, the exhibition marks the artist’s fourth solo presentation with the gallery and unfolds as a study in atmosphere rather than spectacle.
There is a sculptural gravity to Zinon’s language. Large canvases, dark tonal fields and controlled contrasts create a space where form seems to emerge slowly, as if from a nocturnal perception. Rather than insisting on immediate impact, the works reward a slower kind of looking — one shaped by shadow, texture and suspended tension.
What makes Penombra especially resonant during Design Week is precisely its restraint. While much of Milan celebrates visibility, movement and novelty, this exhibition reminds us that lasting impact can also come through proportion, silence and emotional density.
For THECORE, experiences like this are essential to reading Milan fully. Design culture is not found only in products and interiors, but also in art, spatial perception and the ability of form to alter the tempo of the viewer.
Richard Zinon’s Act I: Penombra is on view at Cadogan Gallery, Via Bramante 5, Milan, through 6 June 2026.
