Sometimes the most powerful architectural intervention is the one that occupies almost nothing.

Located in front of Rafael Moneo’s City Hall in Logroño, Resonance by PPAA reimagines the relationship between architecture and public space through an installation that does not seek to dominate the plaza, but to reveal the spatial order already embedded within it. Rather than introducing a monumental object, the project transforms the existing urban void into its primary material, allowing architecture to emerge through geometry, light and perception.

The intervention extends the building’s alignments, rhythms and proportions into the city through a three-dimensional aluminum grid. Like a sound wave propagating beyond its source, the geometry of the City Hall resonates across the square, making visible a hidden spatial structure that has always existed but remained unnoticed. As visitors move through the installation, the perception of scale, distance and movement continuously shifts, creating an experience defined by relationships rather than objects.

Instead of filling the plaza, PPAA intensifies it. The project demonstrates that public space can be activated without permanent construction, reinforcing the idea that architecture is not always expressed through mass, but through the careful orchestration of emptiness, proportion and human interaction.

Constructed from lightweight aluminum profiles, the installation operates as a dry-assembled, modular and self-supporting system. Its reflective surfaces capture changing light, the movement of people and the surrounding sky, allowing the intervention to appear simultaneously present and almost immaterial. Designed as a fully reversible structure, every component can be dismantled, reused or reconfigured, reinforcing a sustainable approach based on adaptability rather than permanence.
