Urban Oasis: Indoor-Outdoor Living at Casa GB
On the outskirts of Padua, in a recently developed residential area, Casa GB turns everyday domestic life into something closer to retreat. Designed by Team Architettura, the house proposes a calm, contemporary way of living in which architecture, garden and outdoor furnishings work together to create a continuous relationship with nature.
The project is organised on two levels: an above-ground volume containing the living spaces, kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms, and a fully underground level that accommodates the garage, a refrigerated wine cellar, a laundry room and a small wellness area. This decision gives the house a compact and clearly defined presence, while allowing the outdoor spaces to play a more expansive role in daily life.
That relationship is visible immediately. All of the rooms on the upper level overlook the swimming pool, reinforcing a strong visual continuity between the house and the greenery around it. In this composition, the garden becomes the true protagonist — not as an accessory to the architecture, but as the central field through which the house is experienced.
Outdoor furnishings by Atmosphera help articulate that landscape of use. Around the pool, the Typhoon table and Lodge chairs frame convivial moments, while the 9.0 sofa, low table and Lodge side table create a softer setting for rest. Nearby, the Panama sunbeds complete the sequence, guiding the eye toward the water and reinforcing the project’s atmosphere of informal elegance.
What gives Casa GB particular coherence is its material language. Clay, resin, wood and teak are used to strengthen the continuity between indoor and outdoor life, creating a tactile environment rooted in balance rather than excess. The result is a residence that interprets contemporary living through minimalism, warmth and a quiet sense of refinement.
More than a house with a garden, Casa GB reads as a carefully composed domestic landscape — a place where architecture recedes just enough for light, greenery and open-air living to define the experience of home.
